Speaker construction
In order to upgrade your home cinema system, to improve the hif-fi unit’s sound or to connect the car radio to an adequate subwoofer, you can buy the appropriate loudspeaker or build it by yourself. Building individual stereo speakers for the TV, the PC or the car, is not that difficult. First of all you have to choose the appropriate built-in speaker that meet your needs, for example rather a 2 or 3 way speaker or instead a full-range speaker. However, not only the perfect speaker chassis matters in order to construct a good speaker box.
The proper speaker housing enables great volume
The ideal suited housing for the speaker and its further components is crucial for optimal sound. Thereby the aspect of available space should be weighed against the best possible resonator for sufficient volume inside the loud speaker box. But also the height of the sound’s source - and therefore the height of the floor-standing loudspeaker - has an effect as well. That means when the speaker’s right place and the proper chassis has been chosen, you have to calculate the dimensions of the speaker housing.
Bass reflex tube, patch panel or speaker feet – the details matter as well
After defining the kind of speaker chassis and the box dimensions two important aspects of speaker design are clarified. Now, further components like frequency crossovers, resistors and amplifier but also bass reflex tubes, speaker feet and patch panels will be chosen and installed.
Particularly for mobile loudspeaker boxes corner protectors or carrying handles are useful and neccessary. For building speaker systems these protective measures must not be neglected. Otherwise hi-fi speaker or PC loud speaker belonging to the disc jockey‘s equipment do not last long and do not create unique and unforgettable sound as well. A self-made music box has a lot to offer in acoustic ways, but also in optical ways. After all every box is absolutely unique.
