Checking, measuring or providing assistance
Testing equipment like LED-tester, SMD-testing forceps, bank note tester, cable finder, battery tester or network/cable tester provide an abstract value for example okay/not okay, existent/not existent, full/empty. They monitor or ensure the product’s quality by testing and visualizing issues, that cannot be seen with the naked eye.
Measuring instruments also fulfil a very similar purpose. However, they provide a concrete numeric value to a predefined unit, i.e. pH value 6, 100 pieces or 4%. Measuring devices determining those values are water tester (for pH value and chlorine concentration), hand counter (for quantities), energy cost meters (for W and kWh) or moisture meters (for °C, °F, %).
